About Ms. Lux

Ms. Lux was born and raised in Texas.  She grew up in Fort Worth, about three and a half hours north of Austin.  She loves to travel, and she started doing so internationally when she was 16.  She went to Reggio Emilia, Italy and stayed with a host family for two weeks.  Since then. she fell in love with seeing the world and all of it's diverse cultures.  Some of the international places she has visited include Costa Rica, Ireland, England, France, Aruba, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, and Mexico.

Ms. Lux moved to ATX to go to St. Ed's and fell in love with the city, so she stayed.  She knew from a very young age that she wanted to teach.  Growing up, she always looked up to her teachers and appreciated how much they cared about her and her future.  She tries to do the same for her students.

Ms. Lux LOVES Science!!!  She loves that it provides explanations for so many of the wonders in this beautiful world.  Science is magic.  It explains the unexplainable.  Ms. Lux also believes that it is Science-minded people that will save our world from climate change and all of the negative effects it has caused.

Ms. Lux graduated from St. Edward's University, here in South Austin.  This is her mother and her the day she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in education.  Currently, she is working on her Masters degree in Education at the University of Texas at Arlington.  Ms. Lux truly believes in the power of higher education, and works to enstill that philosophy in her students every year.

Ms. Lux is also an animal lover.  She has two dogs (shar peis....the wrinkly ones) and a bunny named Dexter.  If all students return their permission slip, then you might be lucky enough to meet Dexter in class!
